Holiday house with private swimming pool situated in the stunning South of France in an unspoilt little town free of tourists and midway between Nimes and the Mediterranean.
Access: International airports: Nimes (20 mins), Montpellier (45 mins). There is a railway station in Beauvoisin - 5 minutes walk from the holiday rental.
Accommodation
Our 300 year old winery (Vigneron) of 125 m2 is situated in the stunning South of France in an unspoilt little town kept free of tourists and midway between Nimes and the Mediterranean.
This lovely old town house dating back to 1700, with thick stone walls, 3 meter ceilings, is located centrally in the old part of the town and thus in walking distance to all necessities. The house has been lovingly updated for today's standard.
The house has 6 beds divided into 3 great rooms, including a master bedroom with fireplace. There are two toilets, bathroom with two sinks and tub/shower. Cosy lounge with 100-year old beautiful tiles, fireplace, TV, etc. Very large dining kitchen with all machines and double doors to the enclosed garden/courtyard where the Roman staircase leads straight down into the brand-new pool. Your car can be parked in the large garage of 70 m2, with washing machine and bicycles.
Detailed Description
The house is kept in bright colors with floors in a mix of tiles, some with hundred years old beautiful tiles. The house contains a large open kitchen of 40m2 with direct access to the garden. In the ground floor you also find the cozy living room with a marble fireplace. Furthermore, toilet, hall and staircase to the first floor.
At the first floor: Master bedroom of 25m2 and furthermore two good bedrooms. A total of 6 good beds, all rooms are equipped with very good beds and mattresses. Furthermore bathroom with toilet and tub/shower. The house contains a total of 125m2.
(By agreement rental could be arranged with more beds.)
Between the garden and the road - and with a port for both road and garden - is the large garage of 70m2, where the laundry department is located. The garage provides space for a car, - if you do not want to park on the street where you can park free and hassle-free just in front of the house. In the garage are also 4 bikes that can be borrowed if returned in same condition.
The facilities are in very good condition with newer plumbing and electricity, heating, etc. Amenities include TV, DVD, radio, gas stove/oven (city gas), refrigerator-freezer, microwave, electric kettle, dishwasher, washer, dryer and more.
There is wireless internet.

Garden
The 300m2 of land is sheltered between old stone walls. The enclosed garden allows you to enjoy the sun and avoid it in the covered terrace of 25m2 with tiled floor or in another shady place in the garden. It is also possible to take a dip in the brand new and gorgeous pool (3m x 6m) with Roman steps and soft Italian marble flooring.

BEAUVOISIN
AND SURROUNDING AREA
The house is situated in the heart of the old part of the charming village Beauvoisin with approx. 3500 inhabitants. Beauvoisin is completely unspoilt, authentic French and spared of tourists. You are close to Nimes, close to many market places and close to the Mediterranean.
The central location of the house means that you within minutes have access to bakers, butchers, a small supermarket, chemist/pharmacy, tabac shop, wine stores, post office, flower shop, fruit shop, dry cleaning, cinema, hairdressers, doctors, dentists, etc.
For heavy purchase there is a large supermarket in the neighboring city less than 2 km away. Beauvoisin also has a delicious pizza/barbecue restaurant 50 meters from the house, and also another restaurant and a "tavern". The railway station is a 5 minutes walk from the house.
SURROUNDING AREA
Beauvoisin is perfectly situated in the southern of France in Gard on the border between Provence and Lanquedoc-Roussillon. This means a perfect climate and in addition to this many opportunities for marvellous experiences and activities. Below are listed some obvious, but there is a myriad of other options.
Nimes
Nimes is a 2000 year old fantastic city with the Colosseum, the world's best preserved Roman temple, Maison Carrée and other ancient Roman buildings and gardens. Nimes was one of the largest and most important cities in the Roman times. Standing next to the Colosseum almost gives you the feeling of being in the middle of ancient Rome. Throughout the summer 3-4 times a week the Colosseum is used for concerts featuring many big names. Nimes is also a very lively town with many shops, restaurants and cultural opportunities. Although Nimes is a popular tourist destination, the city is still authentic, pure and not in any way touristy.
Camargue
The Nature Reserve, Camargue in the Rhone delta is one of France's major tourist destinations. The area offers outdoor experiences beyond the ordinary with flamingos, white Camargue horses, black cattle with long horns and its also rich in wildlife. Take a boat trip in the area and visit the small towns.
Pont du Gard
The aqueduct, Pont du Gard is one of the finest ancient Roman buildings. Nearly 20,000 cubic meters of water were transported daily to Nimes from a spring near Uzes 50 km away. With a level difference of only 17 meters between the source and Nimes, it has been something of a technical engineering challenge to construct the aqueduct. As the most famous bridge/aqueduct from Roman times, Pont du Gard is on UNESCOs world heritage list.
Mediterranean
In kilometers the Mediterranean is not far away, but because os the winding and narrow roads by car it´s approx. 25 minutes. It is easiest to drive to Grau du Roi, where there is a very nice beach and also reasonable possibilities for parking.
The area of interest for bulls
Finally the area's special interest in bulls. With only 4 hours to Barcelona Spanish culture has had its influence. Unlike traditional Spanish bullfighting, the way in this area is far more animal friendly. Here it's not about killing the animal, but for the performer to show his courage in playing with the bull. All the towns in the area - including Beauvoisin - has an arena and throughout the summer there are several (free) events to be held alternately among the towns.
