Le Saint Jacques - surprisingly excellent dining to be found

Just a couple of kilometers from Ventenac and the Canal du Midi - the pleasant village of Canet d'Aude - with its grand maison de maitres, busy flea markets, café/bar, supermarket and shops is Restaurant Le Saint Jacques - with its lovely courtyard, hidden behind a rather dull exterior façade, on the main road through the village opposite an immobilier. The courtyard is perfect for outside dining, whilst the interior dining room is equally outstanding with walls of historic murals, recreating a lifestyle of times gone by. Food is presented and served with panache. Whether if its for the very reasonably priced menu du jour or the more adventurous offerings, customers are treated well - and I have always left with a smile!

is between Narbonne / Beziers and Carcassonne.
Directions: Take the Carcassonne road from Narbonne (N113). Take
a right at the traffic lights at Villedaigne (D11), and soon after take
a right (D26) into Canet. Le Saint Jacques is on your left, after the
Cave Cooperative, opposite an immobiliere; if you see shops, café/bar,
patisserie you have gone too far.
