La Grange, Bize Minervois, Aude, Languedoc Languedoc Restaurant of the Month (November 2008)   View Larger Map Restaurant La Grange, Bize Minervois, Aude, Languedoc This ambitious restaurant has just opened on the outskirts of Bize Minervois. With a mix between Mexican and ranch architecture one could almost expect hunky steaks, or spicy chilis - however the dining at present is traditional French, with a certain guarded enthusiasm. The interior is informal, almost North American, and has views over a pond, across vineyards, and has a lovely terrace - which bodes well for the Summer when I expect this restaurant to do rather well. The service was rather slow - and needs to get up speed to be on par with the music - I sat here for 20 minutes without getting any appetizers offered - no drinks - nothing. Half the joy of being at a restaurant is to be served with attention. However once the meal started it seemed these early problems were sorted out. The menu is very limited and one hopes that a broader more ambitious menu is on the cards - its early days - so I expect it will improve in leaps and bounds in the next months. The management are pleasant and welcoming - and I will be coming back!
