portrait of Giles Denmark, Minneapolis Institute of Arts with Doryphoros

Interaction occurs.
Here on the page.
Outside on the street.
In the chemicals of what you drink and the energy of your body, your thoughts.
I seek out these cross over points.
These borders, these areas of transmission, of softness, of hardness.
These are the ideas, the energies, the materials I work with.
I make a photograph capture a performance on a hillside, and computer manipulate and add words to push that intimacy into your thoughts.
In performance I metaphorically touch and break the skin of an ancient sculpture (i.e. the Doryphorus) to experience the decay and growth that has occurred through time.
I admit to the noise, and the pressure of too much information.
I pick into your memories, your feelings now, use this intimacy, use this border, the armor of the personal. as my medium. as my work.
