Marvellous beaches, surfing, sailing, horse riding, biking, walking and hiking; visit the stern castles of the Pays des Cathares (45 mins), the famous Abbaye de Fontfroide (20 mins), and enjoy French life at its very best (and not as crazily expensive as at the Côte d'Azur!).

DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION

This very comfortable, well equipped property is in a residential part of an ancient, fortressed fisherman's village.

The property is most attractively designed, with plenty of space and light, and arches being a definite theme; there are sea views too. It is the owner's own residence for most of the year and, as such, includes some very homely touches.

During summer the charming and discreet owner occupies a studio adjoining the house; she does not use the garden.

Recently a lovely new swimming pool - 5,65 x 3,30 x 1,60 m has been added to the garden.

GRUISSAN AND SURROUNDING AREA

Gruissan is an ideal choice for a family holiday, offering plenty to do for everybody, from grandparents to grandchildren, including a water park and a mini-golf course, as well as a good selection of cafés and restaurants.

Windsurfing and dinghy sailing on well protected lakes; schools in abundance. Boat excursions; fishing trips (tuna and sword fish!).

Horse riding farms are close. The wonderful natural park 'La Clape' dominates the background of Gruissan; it offers the most magnificent hikes and walks and splendid views. And even, for the real pro mountaineer, some 'abseil' façades.

Nature lovers can roam the protected parks extending along the coast, consisting of salt ponds and moors where flamingos carefully tread and forage on prawns to keep their pink complexion .....

Endless beaches, where one can either be in the suntanned crowd or driving along a while, completely alone, free as "God in France", as they say.
