Accommodation
Situated on the edge of a pretty Minervois village, close to Minerve, Olonzac,
and Narbonne, Paradis Minervois, has a beautiful and stunning view of the
surrounding countryside.
There are 2 entrances to the property, offering the potential for 2 families
/ groups to share the house. The upper level - is accessed,
via double gates, where there is a parking area, via the garden and terrace
that skirts the swimming pool. The lower level is accessed by a main entrance
that opens directly onto the quiet country road on which the house is situated.
Entering via the upper level - one goes up a couple of steps, onto an outside
terrace that stretches the width of the house, which is furnished with dining
table, parasol, and chairs, suitable for dining outside. The terrace overlooks
the swimming pool and has lovely views of the village and surrounding countryside.
From the terrace there is a choice of access either via the "usual entrance"
into the kitchen, or via the French windows that open into the living room.
The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, electric oven and gas
hob, microwave, and dishwasher.
In
a seperate but connected area there is
a washing machine and dryer.
From the kitchen you enter into a large living dining area with cathedral
ceiling, with - in the living room area - sofa, easy chairs, satellite TV
(UK, international channels, radio)
and entertainment center with DVD and CD player.
Dining area
In the dining area there is a dining table with seating for 6. There is a
high chair available.
Master bedroom
To oneside of the living dining area, a door opens into the master bedroom,
with double bed with large ensuite bathroom with WC, separate walk-in shower,
bath, bidet and hand basin.

There is also a separate WC with hand basin accessible from the living dining
area.
Wooden stairs go down to the lower level, which in fact has its own entrance,
as described above. The stairs enter into an entrance hall, with access to
a garage (locked for owners use only), where there are 2 additional bedrooms,
with a separate bathroom. Both bedrooms have views over the surrounding Minervois
countryside - vineyards, hills, garrigue.
Bedroom 2 has 2 single beds, whilst Bedroom 3, has a double bed as well as
a single bed.
Bathroom
The large bathroom is fully equipped, with large walk in shower,
wash basin, and WC.
There is a baby's cot available.
GARDEN
The terrace overlooks the garden, that surrounds the 8.5 x 4.5 - up to 1.8m
depth swimming pool with entry steps into the shallow end of 1 metre in depth
for easy access for swimmers. Pool side there are table, chairs, and sun
loungers.

THE VILLAGE
AND SURROUNDING AREA
The house is in a pretty Minervois village, Aigues Vives - that has all
the basic services with patisserie bakery, general food store, a couple
of restaurants, and a bar, as well as tennis courts.
Aigues Vives is on the river Cesse that climbs deep into the Hautes Minervois
via the notable Cathar village of Minerve, with its deep gorges, where
the river goes under a hill creating a natural bridge. A village with
numerous paths to take, and wines to imbibe in the area. A number of
hidden pools are found on the river as it goes towards the sea; for those
seeking more populous places - Bize Minervois offers a natural bathing
pool, as well as Mirepeiset.
For lovers of sea bathing, the miles of sandy beaches all along the Languedoc
coastline, are exceptional, with such places as Narbonne Plage, just
10 minutes from the cathedral and Roman capital of the region - Narbonne,
or go to Gruissan with houses on stilts as made famous in the film Betty
Blue, and international wind surfing and other water sports competitions.
History lovers will enjoy visiting the famous Cité de Carcassonne,
the medieval walled city that epitomises the romantic medieval castle
- for those who like a hike and climb - Queribus and Peyrepertuse Castle
sit on mountain tops with dizzying views are the places to go.
For quiet picnics, under the shade of plane trees, Canal du Midi, is
a lovely place to walk, or perhaps take a day trip on one the many canal
boats that cruise on the canal.
If you are golf fanatic - the area is well blessed with a number of courses,
in Carcassonne, Beziers, Cap d'Agde, and Lamalou les Bains.

International
airports: Beziers (45 mins), Montpellier (80 mins), Carcassonne (60 mins), Toulouse (100
mins), Gerona (2 hrs) and Barcelona (3 hours). There are railway stations
at Beziers (35 mins) and Narbonne (25 mins) with TGV connections to Paris
