Well, here’s our secret: our clients enjoy their golf at challenging courses with spectacular scenery, but they are rather discerning about the rest of their holiday package too. • They appreciate excellent food and good wine. • They prefer the company of friends or colleagues for daytime play – or relaxation over dinner. • They want accommodation which maintains the high standards they’re used to. • They love the exclusivity of having their own pool and tennis court at a peaceful private villa where they can wind down after a day’s activity. And they find that a pre-dinner glass or two of chilled white wine, served at the pool-side, slips down beautifully. • But most of all, our guests value the freedom which comes with having everything arranged for them. From the moment they step off the plane, they are freed from the responsibilities and worries of their usual busy lives. We collect them from the airport and from that moment they simply sit back, while we organise everything. They need not concern themselves with costs: golf green fees, all the meals with wine and transportation to their chosen 18-hole golf courses are contained in the price of the package. In addition we can arrange optional accompanied visits to some of the vineyards which produce Corbieres, Minervois and Malepere wines or the sparkling Chardonnays of Limoux, at a small additional cost. We also will present our usual in-house wine-tasting with our wine specialist. Where else can you play in the clear air of the Pyrenees on one day and on a championship course overlooking the Mediterranean the next? We can also arrange a programme of interesting outings for non-playing partners, if required. Five day breaks for groups of 4–7: £850 per person For groups of 8 or more people, 1 person is FREE (8 people for the price of 7).

Golf and Gourmet Luxury Breaks

What is included:

* Transfers to / from Toulouse or Carcassonne airports.
* Green fees at three courses (five-day break) or two courses (three-day break).
* Transport to and from golf clubs, restaurants or, when possible, places of local interest, if required.
* Wine-tasting outings (one or two, depending on three-day or five-day break) to vineyard(s) with The French House Party's own connoisseur.
* All meals with our selection of wines at lunch or dinner, taken either in-house or at selected restaurants.
* Coffee, tea and soft drinks freely available.
* Use of swimming pool (weather permitting), tennis court, petanque arena and other house leisure facilities.

Golf and Gourmet Getaways - Suggested itinerary.

This 5-day, 4-night itinerary including three rounds of golf is based on the present Ryanair early-morning flight from Stansted to Carcassonne on a Wednesday, with an arrival time of 10 am. Sunday departure from Carcassonne is currently 10.20 am. *(see note)

Wednesday
10 am Guests are greeted at the airport by a French House Party representative and transported to Domaine St. Raymond to settle in and take an early lunch.
12 noon Lunch
1 pm Transport leaves for Carcassonne Golf Club.
1.30 pm Approximate tee-off time. (timing as required).
4.30 - 5 pm Approximate collection time from Club; transport back to Domaine St. Raymond.
7 pm In-house wine-tasting with our own Wine Wizard.
8 - 8.15 pm

Four-course dinner at home.

Thursday
7.30 - 8.30 am Breakfast
8.30 am Transport departs for Cap d'Agde Golf Club, championship course by the Mediterranean.
10.30 am Tee-off time.
2 - 4 pm Light, late lunch
4 - 5 pm Transport leaves, stopping en route at a Michelin-star restaurant in the Corbieres, which also maintains its own vineyard with world-famous wines. A wine-tasting will be arranged prior to dinner.
7.30 pm Dinner at restaurant.
10.30 pm

Transport home.

Friday

(Friday is designated as a "free day", so this suggested structure is fairly loose and may be adapted to requirements. For example, clients may prefer to spend longer in La Cite at Carcassonne than this itinerary suggests, and may thus forego the visit to a vineyard. NB: If clients wish instead to play additional golf on this day, it can be arranged but will incur an additional cost.)

8.30 - 9.30 am Breakfast.
10 - 10.30 am Who Were the Cathars? Short talk about the history of the Languedoc.
1 pm Lunch
2.30 pm Transport leaves for wine-tasting in Limoux. Afternoon outing includes short visit to medieval city of Carcassonne.
7 pm We will gather to drive directly to our chosen restaurant.
8 pm Dinner at restaurant.
11 pm

Transport home.

Saturday
7.30 - 8.30 am Breakfast
8.30 am Transport departs for St Thomas's Golf Club, Beziers.
10 am Tee-off time.
1 - 3 pm Lunch.
4 pm Transport leaves Beziers.
5 pm Wine-tasting in the Malepere.
6.15 pm Transport home.
7.30 pm Pre-dinner drinks.
8 pm

Final-night dinner at home.

Sunday
7.30 - 8 am Breakfast.
8.30 am Transfer of guests to Carcassone airport, arriving at 9 am for 10 am flight.

* This itinerary is flexible, according to arrival time e.g. if guests choose to arrive on Wednesday's later afternoon flight, either into Carcassonne or Toulouse, making play impossible on that day, they may select a later departure flight on Sunday. In that case, it is possible to play on the Sunday morning, before departure, at either Carcassonne or Toulouse.
