BIZE MINERVOIS
The village of Bize is well supplied with services and shops. A weekly outdoor market takes place on Wednesdays in the tree lined square just across the river from Le Figuier. In walking distance from the house are several restaurants, a bar, bakery, grocery store and a butcher, as well as a pharmacy, newsagent, post office, dentist, beauty salon and a doctor's surgery. You can taste the wine at several local wineries, and a short drive towards Narbonne you will find the Cooperative Oleicole L'Oulibo, a cooperative of olive growers, where you can experience how olives are processed, as well as taste and purchase a very good selection of their excellent oils and table olives.
A little further away, in St Marcel d'Aude you'll find a larger supermarket, and the town of Narbonne is only a 20 minute drive.
